Police Commissioner Visit - Cllr Robert Payne

Councillor Robert Payne met with the Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens, along with the District Commander for North Somerset and the town centre beat manager this week to discuss police issues in central Weston. They discussed the drugs issues and anti-social behaviour in the town, and the priorities for the police going forward. Robert also questioned the rise in the number of reports of domestic abuse in the Avon and Somerset police area.

Councillor Mike Bell reports: "challenged North Somerset Council's Conservative leader again at a council meeting last night on parking. He promised me a 'review' in January, repeated this in April and still hasn't delivered.

COUNCIL SPENDS £250,000 ON NEW SENIOR MANAGERS

North Somerset Council has revealed plans to recruit a new permanent chief executive and head of finance at a cost of more than £250,000. The Conservative-run council has also appointed specialist recruitment consultants, at a cost to taxpayers of £27,000, to advise them on the process.
