Weston-super-Mare auto parts company to move operations to Europe due to Brexit.

26 Feb 2019

Weston-super-Mare based automotive supply company Eurocams has announced that it will be closing down UK distribution operations and moving part of its business to the Netherlands to avoid tariffs and border checks after the UK leaves the EU.

Patrick Keating, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Weston-super-Mare, said:

"This latest announcement shows that the Tory's shambolic handling of the Brexit process is having real consequences for jobs and livelihoods here in Weston.

While Weston's Tory MP continues to refuse to take a catastrophic "no deal brexit" off the table, the clock is running down towards the 29 March cliff edge and businesses are having to take very difficult decisions as they have no certainty about the trading conditions on 1 April.

The LibDems have been fighting against this disastrous Brexitfrom day one. We will not give up the fight for people's livelihoods and jobs and will continue to demand better than Brexit."
