Fix Our Roads!
The state of many roads in Weston, Worle and the villages and across North Somerset is not good enough. Years of underinvestment and mismanagement by the former Conservative administration at the Town Hall mean there is a backlog of repairs running to tens of millions of pounds.
To make matters worse, the Conservative Government cut funding for road and pavement maintenance in North Somerset by £1.6 million compared to 2020/21 - and then frozen this budget for three years, meaning in real terms even less money will be available to the council to invest in maintenance!
The Government funding cuts could mean as many as 30,000 fewer potholes can be fixed in the coming years.
Liberal Democrat councillors are fighting to persuade the government to give more funding to our roads and pavements. Support our campaign for better roads and pavements in North Somerset by adding your name and details to the petition below.
