Lib Dems in WsM welcome General Election.

April 18, 2017 4:46 PM

Liberal Democrats in Weston-super-Mare welcome a General Election and an opportunity to take out message to local people. This area is traditionally closely fought between the Lib Dems and the Conservatives - we won in 1997 and 2001, they won in 2010 and 2015. We expect to confirm our candidate shortly.

If people want to avoid a disastrous Hard Brexit. If they want a Britain that is open and tolerant, then this is their chance to vote for a united, liberal alternative.

North Somerset divided virtually 50/50 between leave and remain in the referendum. Only a Lib Dem vote offers an internationalist, sensible and electable alternative to the Conservative Brexit Government.

Liberal Democrats have been holding the Conservatives to account on disability cuts, social care funding and the crisis in our NHS. It's Liberal Democrats who have led the way in challenging the attitude of the anti-Weston Conservative Council.

If people want a change, they need to vote for it.
